Shop with a cop announced

Rita Davis with Fort Collins Police Services gave us the following press release:

Officers from several local emergency services agencies are volunteering to help underprivileged kids shop for Christmas gifts for family members on December 10.  The event is sponsored by private donors and the Wal-Mart store in Loveland, CO.

Twenty-three children selected through the McKinney Foundation, a program that serves the basic needs of children in transitional housing, will be paired with uniformed emergency personnel who will assist them in selecting holiday gifts for family members.

Wal-Mart provides complimentary gift wrapping for all their purchases.

The Shop with a Cop program is just for kids and allows them an opportunity to indulge in the holiday spirit as they shop for others.  The annual shopping spree also provides positive interaction between kids and local law enforcement.
